FX/Z-i Series Toploader Balances
The FX/Z-i Series offers precision toploader balances featuring A&D's patented Compact Super Hybrid Sensor technology. Available in both external and internal calibration models, with standard or waterproof/dustproof configurations, these balances deliver reliable performance across a wide range of laboratory and industrial applications.
Model Options
FX-i Series - External Calibration
Entry level precision balances offering 0.01g to 1mg resolution at an affordable price. Fast one-second weighing response time combined with a specially designed internal shock absorber provides protection from vertical or transverse overloading. Legal-for-trade models (NTEP and Measurement Canada) are also available.
FZ-i Series - Internal Calibration
Combines FX-i performance with the convenience and assurance of internal calibration. Quick adjustment is just a keystroke away. The unique, air actuated internal motor provides quick, one-touch calibration and its fail-safe mechanism resets the weight to its original position upon interruption.
FX-iWP Series - Waterproof/Dustproof External Calibration
The world's first IP-65 rated 1 mg resolution balance. Dust-tight and can even be sprayed with water. An "accident-proof" balance suitable for use in environments that can render other balances inoperable.
FZ-iWP Series - Waterproof/Dustproof Internal Calibration
Adds internal calibration to complement the IP-65 rated dustproof and waterproof features. A balance that can be used virtually anywhere. Features sealed pan support for enhanced protection.
IP65 Rating Explained
The International Protection (IP) Code, as defined by the international standard IEC 60529, specifies the degrees of protection provided by enclosures. The two digits next to IP indicate the levels of protection against solid foreign objects (first digit) and water (second digit). A device rated as IP65 permits no ingress of dust (level 6) and withstands water jetting from any direction (level 5).

- Standard RS-232C Interface with bi-directional communication for PC, printer or other peripheral devices
- GLP/GMP/GCP/ISO Compliant - balance ID number and calibration data can be printed out using A&D's AD-8121B or a PC
- Multiple Weighing Units of Measurement: g, pcs, %, oz, lb, lb-oz, ozt, ct, mom, dwt, GN, tl, tol, mes and MLT
- Response Indicator Function: Selectable FAST, MID or SLOW response to suit weighing environment conditions
- Auto Power OFF Function: Display switches OFF automatically when the balance is inactive for 10 minutes as a power-saving tool
- Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) with selectable refresh rates: 5, 10 or 20 times per second
Application Functions
Statistical Calculation Function
The statistical values Sum, Maximum, Minimum, Range, Standard Deviation, Number of Data, and Coefficient of Variation can be displayed or output.
ACAI - Automatic Counting Accuracy Improvement
This counting function recalculates the average weight each time a sample is added to eliminate errors caused by variations in unit weight. Sample size options: 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
Animal Weighing Function
The HOLD function enables freezing of weighing data for animal weighing applications and an ANIMAL indicator appears on the display.
Comparator Function
Easy to compare weighing results by setting HI limit and LO limit to display HI, OK, LO indicator.
Percent Mode Function
A sample can be registered as 100% and the weight of another sample can be compared as a percentage.
Underhook
The underhook allows for measurement of magnetic materials and density measurements in air and water.
