FZ-i and FX-i Precision Toploader Balances
The FZ-i and FX-i series offers high-performance analytical and precision balances with resolution from 0.001g to 0.01g. With the patented Compact Super Hybrid Sensor at their core, these balances deliver one-second stabilization time and affordable precision for laboratory applications. Water-resistant WP variants provide IP-65 rated protection for challenging environments.
Series Overview
FX-i External Calibration Series
Entry-level precision balance featuring 0.01g to 1mg resolution at an affordable price point. The patented Compact Super Hybrid Sensor provides fast, one-second weighing response time. A specially designed internal shock absorber offers protection from adverse effects of vertical or transverse overloading. Legal-for-trade models compliant with NTEP and Measurement Canada are available.
FZ-i Internal Calibration Series
Combines FX-i performance with the convenience of internal calibration. Quick adjustment is available with a single keystroke. The unique air-actuated internal motor provides quick, one-touch calibration with a fail-safe mechanism that resets the weight to its original position upon interruption.
FX-iWP and FZ-iWP Water/Dust Proof Series
IP-65 rated balances offering 1mg resolution with complete dust-tight and water-spray protection. The FX-iWP features external calibration while the FZ-iWP adds internal calibration capability. These models function as accident-proof balances suitable for environments that can render standard balances inoperable.

- ACAI (Automatic Counting Accuracy Improvement): Recalculates average weight each time a sample is added to eliminate errors caused by variations in unit weight
- Animal Weighing Function: HOLD function enables freezing of weighing data with ANIMAL indicator on display
- Statistical Calculation Function: Displays or outputs Sum, Maximum, Minimum, Range, Standard Deviation, Number of Data, and Coefficient of Variation
- Comparator Function: Set HI and LO limits to display HI, OK, or LO indicators for easy comparison of weighing results
- Percent Mode Function: Register a sample as 100% and compare weight of another sample as a percentage
- Underhook: Allows measurement of magnetic materials and density measurements in air and water

- Standard RS-232C interface with bi-directional communication for PC, printer, or peripheral devices
- GLP/GMP/GCP/ISO compliant with printable balance ID number and calibration data using AD-8121B or PC
- Auto Power OFF: Display switches off automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity
- Response Indicator Function: Selectable FAST, MID, or SLOW response to suit weighing environment conditions
- Multiple weighing units: g, pcs, %, oz, lb, lb-oz, ozt, ct, mom, dwt, GN, tl, tol, mes, and MLT
- Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) with selectable refresh rate of 5, 10, or 20 times per second
- Built-in rechargeable battery available (FXi-09): Ni-MH battery pack for AC-free operation with 10 hours charging time for 8 hours operation
IP-65 Protection Rating
The International Protection (IP) Code, as defined by international standard IEC 60529, specifies degrees of protection provided by enclosures. IP65 rating indicates complete protection against dust ingress (level 6) and ability to withstand water jetting from any direction (level 5).
