Cloud and Pour Point Test Equipment for Petroleum Products
This professional testing equipment measures cloud point and pour point, which are critical indicators of the lowest temperature of utility for petroleum products. During testing, the sample is periodically examined while being cooled in the apparatus. The cloud point is recorded as the highest temperature at which haziness is observed, while the pour point is the lowest temperature at which movement of the oil is observed.
Available Models
Cloud and Pour Point Chamber
This compact four-place portable chamber immerses four copper test jackets in suitable freezing mixtures at the required depth per ASTM specifications. The unit features a steel exterior housing with polyurethane enamel finish and an all-copper interior for corrosion resistance. A removable composition top plate and 1⁄2" (13mm) cork insulation around the interior aid in cold retention. Models are available with inlet and outlet connections for circulating refrigerated coolant from an external source. Supplied with copper jackets, gaskets, disks, and thermometer holders for test jars and cooling bath. Test jars and thermometers must be ordered separately.
Mechanically Refrigerated Bench Model
The bench-model test unit features three mechanically refrigerated baths with factory preset temperatures for convenient cloud and pour point testing. Each bath has a phenolic top plate with ports for thermometer and four copper test jackets. Synthetic sponge covers over each top plate and gasketed hoods over each bath prevent excessive ice accumulation around the test jackets. The cascade hermetic refrigeration system provides reliable long-term service. Bath interior is made of stainless steel, and the cabinet is constructed of polyester-epoxy finished steel housing. Supplied with test jackets, gaskets, disks, and thermometer holders for test jars and cooling baths.
Mechanically Refrigerated Floor Model
The floor model test unit offers multiple four-jacket mechanically refrigerated baths, each factory preset at a different temperature. Available in four-bath or five-bath configurations, these units feature the same construction and accessories as the bench model, with the addition of swivel castors for mobility.
