Manual Aniline Point Apparatus

For determining the aniline point and mixed aniline point of petroleum products and hydrocarbon solvents by thin‑film (ASTM D611 Method B) and U‑tube methods (IP 2 Method D), with endpoint detection via lamp filament obscuration in a light well.

• Determines aniline point and mixed aniline point of petroleum products and hydrocarbon solvents per ASTM D611 Method B.
• Aniline–sample mixture stirred in a thin-film borosilicate tube suspended in a 400 mL borosilicate heating bath.
• Integrated 1 000 W heater (porcelain-refractory–shielded) raises bath temperature at a stepless, reference-dial–controlled rate.
• Thin film flows over a light well illuminated by a 6 V lamp; endpoint indicated when the lamp filament is obscured by phase separation.
• Key components: thin-film tube; 400 mL borosilicate bath; cover assembly with bath stirrer; sample pump rotor with cooling coil; 6 V lamp; drive motor.
• Positive-drive pulley system rotates both sample and bath stirrers; heater housing includes a low-voltage receptacle for the lamp.

ALSO AVAILABLE: u-tube aniline point apparatus:
• Developed by Standard Inspection Laboratories; similar to the Thin Film Aniline Point Apparatus but with a U-Tube aniline-sample tube and stirrer, following IP 2-56 Method D.
• Suitable for samples having ASTM D1500 color of 6.5 or lighter.
• Includes U-tube; 400 mL borosilicate glass beaker; cover assembly with bath stirrer; sample stirrer and cooling coil; 6 V lamp with line cord; and drive motor.
• Thermometer ferrules and mounting hardware are provided.
• Integrated heater offers variable stepless control of heating rate and a 6 V tap for the lamp.
