Professional testing equipment designed to determine cloud point and pour point values of petroleum products. These systems enable laboratories to assess the lowest temperature of utility for various petroleum samples through controlled cooling examination. The apparatus supports periodic sample evaluation to identify the highest temperature at which haziness appears (cloud point) or the lowest temperature at which oil movement ceases (pour point).

Available Models

Three equipment configurations are offered to accommodate different laboratory requirements. The portable chamber provides basic cooling capability with inlet/outlet options for external refrigeration. Bench-mounted and floor-standing models feature integrated mechanical refrigeration with multiple preset temperature baths for streamlined testing workflows.

Cloud and Pour Point Chamber

Four-place portable testing chamber accepts four copper test jackets immersed in freezing mixtures at required depths. Steel exterior housing features polyurethane enamel finish with all-copper interior construction for corrosion resistance. Removable composition top plate and 1⁄2" (13mm) cork insulation surround the interior to maintain cold retention. Available with or without inlet and outlet connections for circulating refrigerated coolant from external sources.

Chamber Specifications

Mechanically Refrigerated Bench Model

Three-bath test unit with factory preset temperatures at +32, 0 and -27°F (0, -18 and -33°C). Each bath accommodates four copper test jackets beneath phenolic top plates with dedicated thermometer ports. Synthetic sponge covers over each top plate and gasketed hoods prevent excessive ice accumulation around test jackets. Cascade hermetic refrigeration system ensures reliable long-term operation. Stainless steel bath interior housed in polyester-epoxy finished steel cabinet.

Mechanically Refrigerated Floor Models

Floor-standing units available in four-bath or five-bath configurations mounted on swivel castors. Four-bath model features preset temperatures at +32, 0, -27 and -60°F (0, -18, -33 and -51°C). Five-bath model includes additional -92°F (-69°C) bath for extended low-temperature testing capability. Construction matches bench model with stainless steel bath interiors, phenolic top plates, synthetic sponge covers, and gasketed hoods. Cascade hermetic refrigeration provides dependable cooling performance.
