This comprehensive balance series delivers precision weighing from 1mg to 0.01g resolution, offering configurations to match your specific laboratory requirements. Models are available with external calibration, internal calibration, and waterproof/dustproof IP-65 rated versions for demanding environments.
Model Configurations
FX-i Series: External Calibration
Entry-level precision balances featuring 0.01g to 1mg resolution at an affordable price point. The patented Compact Super Hybrid Sensor delivers fast, one-second weighing response time. A specially designed internal shock absorber protects against adverse effects of vertical or transverse overloading. Legal-for-trade models are available with NTEP and Measurement Canada certification.
FZ-i Series: Internal Calibration
Combines FX-i performance with the convenience of internal calibration. The unique air-actuated internal motor provides quick, one-touch calibration accessible by keystroke. A fail-safe mechanism automatically resets the weight to its original position upon interruption, ensuring measurement integrity.
FX-iWP Series: Waterproof/Dustproof External Calibration
The world's first IP-65 rated 1mg resolution balance. Completely dust-tight and water-resistant, this balance can be sprayed with water without damage. Designed for environments that would render standard balances inoperable.
FZ-iWP Series: Waterproof/Dustproof Internal Calibration
Combines internal calibration with IP-65 rated dustproof and waterproof protection. Suitable for use in virtually any environment where contamination or moisture exposure is a concern.
IP65 Protection Rating
As defined by international standard IEC 60529, IP65 certification indicates complete protection against dust ingress and resistance to water jetting from any direction. The first digit (6) confirms no dust penetration, while the second digit (5) verifies protection against water jets.
Functional Capabilities
Statistical Calculation Function
Displays or outputs Sum, Maximum, Minimum, Range, Standard Deviation, Number of Data, and Coefficient of Variation for comprehensive data analysis.
ACAI – Automatic Counting Accuracy Improvement
This advanced counting function recalculates the average weight each time a sample is added, eliminating errors caused by variations in unit weight.
Animal Weighing Function
The HOLD function freezes weighing data for animal weighing applications, with an ANIMAL indicator appearing on the display during operation.
Comparator Function
Easily compare weighing results by setting HI and LO limits to display HI, OK, or LO indicators for pass/fail verification.
Percent Mode Function
Register a sample as 100% reference and compare the weight of other samples as a percentage of the reference.
Underhook
Allows measurement of magnetic materials and density measurements in air and water.
Interface and Data Management
- Standard RS-232C Interface: Bi-directional communication with PC, printer, or other peripheral devices
- GLP/GMP/GCP/ISO Compliant: Balance ID number and calibration data can be printed using A&D's AD-8121B or PC
- Response Indicator Function: Selectable FAST, MID, or SLOW response settings to suit weighing environment conditions
- Display Refresh Rate: 5, 10, or 20 times per second
Weighing Units
Programmable or standard weighing units: g, pcs, %, oz, lb, lb-oz, ozt, ct, mom, dwt, GN, tl, tol, mes, and MLT.
Power Management
- Auto Power OFF Function: Display switches off automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity for power conservation
- Built-in Rechargeable Battery (FXi-09): Optional Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack enables operation without AC power for mobile applications (10 hours charging time for 8 hours operation)
- Power Consumption: Approximately 11VA supplied to AC adaptor
