The Burrell Wrist Action Shaker duplicates the swirling action of hand mixing. The adjustment arm controls the amplitude and agitation of shaking from 0 to 15 degrees arc. Shaker operates at 385 oscillations per minute (±10%). The Shaker has a built in timer to operate from 1 to 60 minutes or can be set at continuous operation.
Custom clamps and accessories are available supporting a variety of flasks, funnels, bottles, and specimen jars to meet the most demanding laboratory requirements.

Side sleeves have interchangeable side arm shafts 19 mm diameter and clamps. Erlenmeyer flasks from 125 to 1,000 mL capacity can be shaken at one time without need for balancing. Full torque of the 1/8 HP (93 W) motor is always applied to the oscillating mechanism regardless of speed setting. Side arm shafts take 2-place clamps with slip-on fittings which provide capacity of 4 to 16 flasks, suitable bottles, test tubes, etc., with minimum diameter of 10 mm. Platform for attachment to top takes 6 to 10 Erlenmeyer flasks up to 5,000 mL , also sputum bottles, etc. Platform clamps of rubber slide in parallel grooves.

Wrist-Action® Laboratory Shaker Models 75, 85, 95

The Wrist-Action® Laboratory Shaker line offers professional-grade agitation solutions for laboratory applications. Available in three models, these shakers simulate the back and forth action of the human wrist to provide gentle to aggressive agitation. Each model features precise control systems and can be configured with various clamp positions to accommodate different vessel requirements.

Available Models

Model 75 - Standard Wrist Action® Shaker

The Model 75 is designed to operate at 385 oscillations per minute ± 10%. The adjusting lever achieves an action from a gentle swirl to aggressive agitation by increasing the angle of movement from 1 degree to 15 degrees. Though the actual oscillation speed does not vary, the distance through which the vessels move with each oscillation increases with the change in lever arm setting from 1–15.

Model 85 - Simethicone Testing Shaker

The Model 85 has been modified to meet the requirements for Simethicone testing as described in the current edition of the U.S. Pharmacopoeia. The testing employs a radius of 13.3 ± 0.4 cm (measured from center of shaft to center of bottle), and shakes through an arc of 10 degrees (lever arm set at "~5") at a frequency of 300 ± 10% strokes per minute.

Model 95 - Variable Speed Wrist Action® Shaker

The Model 95 Variable Speed Wrist Action® Shaker is designed to operate from 0 to 450 oscillations per minute. The angle of shaking is adjustable from 0–15 degrees of arc. Oscillations can be changed by rotating the variable speed control knob from 0 to 450 oscillations per minute.

Control Features

Timer Control

All models feature a timer located in the center of the control panel that allows for continuous or preset timed operations. The timer can be set for continuous shaking or from 0 minutes to 60 minutes.

On/Off Switch with Overload Protection

All models include a red On/Off rocker switch that also serves as an overload protection device. Should the shaker malfunction, the unit will shut off automatically.

Lever Arm Control

The lever arm controls the amplitude of agitation. Units include a molded rubber locking tool (brake) to prevent creeping of the lever arm.

Features a pair of three-prong, vinyl-sleeved grippers that handle almost any size or shape flask, bottle, or container up to 250ml. Positioning along the shaft is fully adjustable to accommodate a variety of vessel sizes and shapes.

Basic Shafts (Item #075-778-02-00)

Sold in pairs and used for shaker models AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, and FF. Can accommodate from 4 vessels up to 24 vessels. For shaker models EE and FF, pillar blocks are also recommended for extra support.
