The Nicolet/Thermo Electron Avatar 360 is a routine-use FT-IR. The maximum resolution is 0.5 wavenumbers. The instrument is easy to use, and is equipped with a variety of sampling accessories, including horizontal attenuated total reflectance (HATR, Spectra-Tech). The Smart Multi-Bounce HATR accessory is well suited for analyzing a range of solids and liquids. This accessory is ideal for rapid quantitative and qualitative analyses, since sample preparation is generally not necessary - reducing analysis time and the risk of sample contamination. Applications: - Liquids - Pastes and gels - Powders - Films - Coatings on flat samples The Smart Multi-Bounce HATR accessory utilizes the versatile and powerful technique, Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) spectroscopy, for infrared sampling. It is ideal for rapid quantitative and qualitative analyses, since sample preparation is generally not necessary. Eliminating sample preparation not only reduces analysis time, but also reduces the risk of contamination when handling a sample. ATR also provides quick sample clean up - samples are placed on the ATR crystal for analysis and then the crystal is wiped clean ready for the next sample.
