The NuAire 813 is a Class I cabinet that provides personnel protection in a portable safety station for the handling of aerosols and particulates of low to moderate risk assessment. Transparent side walls improves over-all visual access, and makes view of work in progress possible from 3 sides of the cabinet. Standard configuration recirculates air to room or the 813 can be exhausted to the outside. This hood is offered both as a Class I Safety Cabinet equipped with a HEPA filter (not included) and as a light duty ductless Fume Hood equipped with a sorbent filter. In the Class I configuration, the NU-813 provides personnel protection for handling low risk aerosols and particulate matter and as a ductless Fume Hood, it provides protection from solvents such as those employed in cytology. This was special-ordered from the factory with a charcoal filter instead of a HEPA filter in it ... it pulls are through the front and up, protecting the user and not the sample ... with a charcoal filter, there is a degree of organic and odor removal, but NO protection against microbes. The charcoal filter would be included AS IS (no testing, no guarantee) and either filter (charcoal or HEPA) can be ordered new at additional cost; please inquire about those additional costs if interested.
