This Fisher Accu-Lite bacterial colony counter provides mulitple light effects for multipurpose viewing in bacteriology, virology, and mycology labs. Facilitates observation of antibiotic inhibitions, photography of colony morphology, determination of precipitation reactions. Control knob on side raises and lowers support platform, providing 5 angles of light: transmitted, transmitted oblique, oblique, oblique reflected and reflected. Varying the light source expidites counting of surface and subsurface bacterial colonies, and of plaques growing on agar. This semi-automatic model tallies colonies via a hand-held probe. Each time the probe touches a colony, one count is automatically registered on the 4-place digital counter. Mark of the probe tip on agar shows whether a given colony has been registered, eliminating missed counts or duplication.
