Pharmacia Phast System
|
The Pharmacia Phast electrophoresis system integrates automatic sample application , electrophoretic separation and staining in one system. This system offers many advantages, such as rapid and reproducible separation and staining; minimal preparation time; low training requirements and versatility. The separation and control unit houses the separation bed and the programmable power supply. The bed can accommodate two gels simultaneously, offering a sample capacity of up to 24 samples, and is cooled or heated accurately in the temperature range 4 to 30C. The excellent cooling capacity of the separation chamber, together with a unique buffer concept, allows the use of extremely high field-strengths, up to 500V/cm on IEF gels and 120V/cm on SDS gels. The control unit allows programming of up to 9 different separation protocols, each with up to 9 program steps. All parameters, such as cooling temperature, voltage, current, power, volthours, etc can be programmed, measured and controlled automatically. The stainless steel development chamber can process one or two gels at a time, at temperatures up to 50C. The gel holder rotates, allowing maximum gel exposure and short development times (30-60 minutes). Up to 70ml of 9 different solvents can be pumped in and out of the development unit under program control. Voltage range: 10-2000V. Current range: 0.1-50mA. Power range: 0.1-7.0W. Volthour integrator range: 1-9999 volthours/step. Capacity: 1 or 2 gels. Volume 70ml solution. Number of ports: 9, plus 1 for waste. Agitation: rotation. Development: Solutions automatically pumped. Programmable parameters: port, outlet port, duration in minutes, temperature and alarm.
