IEC Minotome 3398

The IEC Minotome cryostat has a temperature range from ambient to -28C. Place prepared tissue on the specimen holder mounted in the microtome. Select temperature from ambient to -28C. Set quick-freeze timer from 0-5 minutes. Tissue is frozen on the holder by quick-freeze block which has space for 15 specimens. Select thickness from 2 to 42um in 2um subdivisions. Cut the specimen. As the segment is cut, the anti-roll plate holds the section flat against the knife preventing curling. The section is picked up from the blade by adhering to the slide of cover glass attached to suction cup.
