This Beckman DU-8 spectrophotometer is intended for qualitative or quantitative biomedical or industrial procedures that require spectrophotometric measurements. In addition, this device may be used as a general purpose spectrophotometer for analytical and investigative applications. Single beam. Built in printer. Wavelength range: 190-900nm. Wavelength accuracy: +/-0.5nm. Wavelength resolution: better than 0.2nm. Slitwidths/bandpaths: 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 5.0nm, keyboard selectable. Digital readout, microprocessor controlled - stores in memory up to 9 fully-defined programs; controlled all instrument set-up parameters; controls the instrument in automatic operation; and computes and reports analytical results, using either an alphanumeric printer or an accessory plotter. Manual mode is used for single measurements at one wavelength, with readings in absorbance or % transmission. Program mode is used for measuring absorbance, % transmission or concentration at one wavelength with all parameters microprocessor controlled. The basic instrument also offers multi-wavelength programming (enables operator to monitor as many as 5 wavelengths), dual-wavelength programming (calculates the difference between readings at 2 wavelengths) and rate calculations (permits monitoring a reaction that changes with time, with the capability of calculating the rate of change). Sample compartment size: 7.75"H X 5.75"W X 20.5"L. Slit widths: 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 5.0nm. Compuset kinetics module included.
