Description:

The Shandon Cytospin 2 centrifuge is a cell preparation system which uses centrifugal force to deposit cells onto a microscopic slide and has been designed to give optimum results consistently and repeatedly, and prevent cell loss. Cytospin 2 uses a unique sample chamber assembly which incorporates a plastic sample chamber, a filter card (not included) to act as a blotter, a microscope slide (not included), and a unique stainless steel slide clip (12 slide clips are included). This design ensures that optimum pressure is applied to form an effective seal which controls the rate of absorption. The unique sealed head prevents aerosoling of potentially harmful specimens during spinning. The operating speed and time parameters are 200-2000 rpm and 1-99 minutes. Speed, time and acceleration rates are programmable with the latter available in a choice of either high, medium, or low, dependent on sample type used. The Cytospin 2 also incorporates a nine program selection capability with an indefinite retention time. Sample chamber capacity is 0.1 mL to 0.5 mL.
