Description:

This 20degree Glossgard II gloss meter has been designed to make gloss measurement easy. It contains the required optical system, photocell amplifier, digital readout and rechargeable battery. The optical system comprises two tube assemblies. The source tube contains a tungsten lamp mounted in a special optical assembly to provide an illuminating beam of controlled intensity and required geometrical characteristics. The receptor tube contains a photocell mounted in a special optical assembly that is different for each geometry. This Gardner gloss meter uses 2 standards for calibration. One is a high gloss standard (HGS) of polished black glass for calibrating the upper end of the gloss meter scale. The other is an intermediate gloss standard (IGS) of white ceramic tile for verifying the accuracy of the instrument readings near mid-scale. Standard pictured is included (it has the black standard on one side and the white standard on the other side).
