Description:

This is a versatile 24-position automatic staining machine for processing microscope slides. It's been designed for simplicity and safety. Flexible means of programming the machine enable it to be used for a wide variety of staining routines, using as few or as many of the 24 positions as are required, with periods of immersion at each stage from a few seconds upwards. More than one load of slides can be processed at the same time. 2 identical 12-stage routines can be programmed for example, and continuous processing is also possible. During the staining program an agitation facility can be switched on which causes the slides to be moved gently up & down in the reagents, increasing processing efficiency and thus reducing the time required at each stage. A complete, automatic staining cycle, using a standard timer, can take up to an hour, and there is a facility for introducing a shorter immersion period at any (or all) of the 24 beaker positions. The normal immersion periods controlled by the main timer can be any multiple of half a minute; the short-immersion period can be up to a maximum of 30 seconds. Troughs hold 750ML of reagents.
